As a native of Chicago, I grew up watching classic black & white film noir detective movies with my family, listening to blues music, and hearing stories shared by my father, former U.S. Army MP CID Special Agent. Those experiences helped spark my lifelong love of mysteries, film noir, and the city of Chicago itself.
Max Devine, P.I. For Hire: The Case of the Crimson Z is my first novel and combines many of the things I love most: mystery, humor, photography, blues music, and the rich history and character of Chicago.
When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me relaxing at the beach, teaching AcroYoga, creating visual media, enjoying a good cup of coffee, or being supervised and judged by my cats.
