What Kind Of Sandwich?

a.k.a. How Much Is It Going To Cost?

This is a question we get all the time.
One of our go-to answers is this analogy: “What Kind Of Sandwich?”

Let’s take a field trip to the local Deli for lunch.

If you only have $10 to spend, then you may end up with a ham & cheese sandwich and a bag of chips.

But if you have $25, the you may get THE WORKS: a club sandwich, crinkle fries, large soda pop, brownie, and big dill pickle.

In other words, if you want The Works, but only have $10 to spend, do not complain if you end up with a Ham & Cheese.

This translates to any product or service you want from someone. Whether it is someone working on your car, your house, or in our case…building a website or producing a video or any customized product. The more features or additions or pages you want, it will add time and effort to produce and add those into your final product.

In the example of The Deli. It has overhead expenses that go into that simple lunch. The bread, the meat, cheese, soup, pickles, stove, oven, fridge, the staff that makes the food, the electricity, etc.

The most overlooked unseen item is:
EXPERIENCE.

Yes, it may take an Expert only a half hour. And another person will take three hours. All to make the same thing. But that Expert takes years to learn and hone their craft, to be able to finish in a half-hour that once took three.

Which brings us to the next statement we all heard before:
“You get what you pay for!”
