ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This is a quick but intensive workshop that will help you understand how to build and maintain your own WordPress Website. Though WordPress and web-building is at no cost, you will need to own your URL and a Hosting Plan. We will teach you The Tools to build and maintain your own site.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE WORKSHOP
LAPTOP/COMPUTER: Must bring your own computer to build your own sites. WIFI available.
CREDIT CARD: Only if you plan on purchasing a new Hosting Plan or Web-Related Features.
ALREADY OWN A SITE: bring your login credentials (User/Password) info and we will jump right in.
YOUR LOGO IMAGES: If you have a Logo, have several sizes handy for web.
IMAGES IMAGES IMAGES: It is best to have your photos cropped & resized to the exact size you would like. A good rule-of-thumb for images:
Hero/Header Images: 1200×500 pixels.
Basic Images: 600×400 or 400×600 pixels.
FILE NAMES: It’s a good habit to change the FILE NAMES with the dimension in the name. EX: GroupPhoto01-600×400.jpg
CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT: This refers to all the text or words you are going to put on your webpages. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the words to every page, just have a few paragraphs to play with.
